On July 22nd of 1942, Donn, on active military service, announced the opening of a Singapore and Manila Don the Beachcomber, and then on the 26th issued 1,000 tokens for a free Barrel of Rum at these locations.

There was no plan for a Manila or Singapore Don the Beachcomber, but it was a classic bit of War hype by Donn Beach. It was to portend the quick movement and success of the allies in the area.

Don the Beachcomber was also actively raising money in the Chicago restaurant via various charity boxes at the coat check.
A little bit of the mind of Donn Beach.
